As tension mounts in Plateau State following two incidents of heavy militant killings this weekend, security agents say they have discovered 50 corpses in the burnt home of a pastor in Matse village of Riyom local government area.
The bodies, some of them burnt beyond recognition, were discovered in the home of a pastor of the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN), and family sources said they belonged to people who ran into the pastor's home for safety as Fulani gunmensurrounded and attacked the area on Saturday morning.
Some 20 persons were killed in nine villages in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
And today, during a mass burial for those victims, gunmen in military uniform attacked mourners, killing many people, including a Senator, a member of the House of Representatives, and Plateau Stateassemblyman.
