The Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney was the hero on his England return with the only goal as Roy Hodgson's side beat Ukraine to reach the last eight of the European Championships.
Rooney was suspended for the draw with France and the win over Sweden but made up for lost time in Donetsk.

Rooney had the best opportunity of the opening 45 minutes, heading a perfect cross from Ashley Young wide of the back post after peeling away from his marker.But Rooney wasted no time in making amends once the second half started, nodding home the easiest of chances after the Ukrainians failed to clear a Steven Gerrard delivery from the right.
